8am session: FFC Dream Team

Featuring Jennifer Dahl, Austin Head & Heather Hamilton

Jennifer is a fitness industry veteran with 12 years of experience working as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and manager. Jennifer currently works as a Fitness Director for Fitness Formula Clubs' East Lakeview location.  In addition, she teaches several group fitness classes, spanning across multiple formats (spinning is her favorite!) at the East Lakeview location.

Instruction Style: Jennifer prides herself on creating a high energy, welcoming environment where class participants can come to alleviate stress, push past their perceived limits and have fun!  Jennifer’s strong passion for music, particularly classic rock, helps her creatively and strategically develop cycling playlists that leave all students inspired to pour their heart into their rides.

Heather is a certified Exercise Physiologist, USA Weightlifting coach, and nationally competitive Powerlifter in USA Powerlifting. Heather has been teaching, training, and coaching in the fitness industry for eleven years. She earned her Bachelors in Kinesiology and Masters of Applied Health Science from Indiana University. After nine years of working in higher education and managing fitness programs for multiple universities, she became a Group Fitness Manager for Fitness Formula Clubs in Chicago where she manages the East Lakeview, Halsted, and Old Town locations. Heather balances her competitive training schedule with cycling and conditioning workouts in the off season. She teaches 10-15 group fitness classes per week at FFC and she is an FFC Elite Trainer, coaching clients from all different backgrounds and age groups, including first time Powerlifting competitors.

Instruction Style: When the beat drops, we work. Music-driven intervals with structured work/recovery periods. 

Austin is a Master Trainer/ Group X Instructor with Fitness Formula Clubs. He moved from Kilgore, TX to Chicago 2 1/2 years ago and began working with FFC as a personal trainer. Within 3 months he became one of the top trainers at his gym, and soon after began his career in group fitness. Currently 

Austin is one of three Group Instructors in the company to be Exclusive with FFC. He teaches 30 classes a week throughout 5 FFC locations, as well as continuing personal training. He is also very involved with FFC’s social media, & is helping launch the FFC YouTube Channel very soon. He loves the way with social media he can connect with all of his students!

9am session: Bill BOwer

Team Name: FFC Team Bill

After a lifetime of distance running injuries, Bill Bower initially took up spinning for rehabilitation.  He has been a certified spin instructor for the past 10 years and has been a group fitness instructor with Fitness Formula Clubs for the past 6 years. An avid outdoor cyclist, Bill is also a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, maintains rank in Aikido and is a FIFA/AUSA certified soccer coach. In his spare time, Bill is an attorney and Senior Vice President, Administration for Northwestern Memorial Healthcare.

Instruction Style: As a spinning instructor, Bill focuses on drills that simulate an outdoor cycling experience.

I fully support the mission of World Sport Chicago to provide assistance and programs for under-served and at risk youth in our communities. Participation in STBTC allows me to lead a team of dedicated, caring cyclists through a solid workout with unified goal to help Chicago’s youth."



10am session: Matt modleski

Team Name: Lakeshore Sport & Fitness

As a full time fitness professional, Matt loves the opportunity to meet and reach new people. He moved to Chicago a little over 7 years ago and fell in love with the city. Lakeshore Sport & Fitness has been his home since he started teaching and he loves having a job that allows him to do something new and different every day while allowing him the freedom to give back. Fitness changed his life.

Instruction Style: Matt describes his spin instruction style as a "PARTY ON A BIKE!" and cannot wait to see you at the House of Blues!

11am session:
               Antonia DeSantis

Team Name: Sweat For Change

Antonia has been teaching indoor cycling for 8 years. Originally from NYC, she left Wall Street after 15 years to pursue her passion in fitness. Antonia moved out to Chicago to open up Flywheel and now teaches at Studio Three Peloton. She also teaches pilates megaformer classes at Studio Lagree and is certified through ISSA as a personal trainer.  She have been active her entire life, growing up swimming & dancing, and later competing in marathons & triathlons. She is now focusing on century ride events, her love of boxing and finally crossing off a fitness competition in 2018 from her bucket list. Antonia is truly honored to be an instructor at Spin to Break the Cycle. She is excited to make a difference, raise money for the kids of Chicago and be inspired by all the positive people & energy at the event. We are changing the world one pedal stroke at time! :) 

Instruction Style: Antonia describes her instruction style as challenging but fun.

12PM Session: Shannon flanagan

Team Name: Flanny Pack

Athletics have always been an important part of Shannon's life. In high school, Shannon played softball, volleyball, and basketball on the varsity level. Focusing on softball, she was a part of a national championship travelling team and played 2 years in college. She, also, represented the USA while playing games in Holland and France. When her softball career ended, Shannon became an avid runner. She has completed 9 full marathons, including a 31 mile run to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis and cancer research. During this time, Shannon earned her personal training certification in 2007. After moving to Los Angeles,  she was the Operational and Program Manager at a private gym on the Yahoo campus in Burbank, CA for almost 6 years.

In 2014, Shannon returned to Illinois and has been teaching HIIT and cycling classes. You can find her at Crosstown Fitness and Cycle X Studio for large group classes. In addition, Shannon is an independent personal/small group trainer helping people achieve their fitness goals. Getting her clients to move better, feel better, and live a healthier, happier life is what motivates Shannon to be her best.

Instruction Style:  Shannon describes her cycling style as a party on bike.  She loves putting her athletic style in making sure everyone gets a great workout, but she also loves incorporating music that people can get lost in.

1PM Session: Aaron foster

Team Name: Cycle Therapy Army

With over 18 years of teaching Spin/Cycling classes for fun and for a great workout, Aaron decided to put his money and time into his passion. Aaron created Cycle Therapy Inc. as an innovative Mobile Spin Fitness Company. Cycle Therapy was created out of a passion to bring a fun and effective workout to the community. Since its inception, Cycle Therapy has been featured on WGN as the "Hottest Fitness Class in Chicago." Aaron has also introduced Cycling format to over 450 CPS students and has instructed over 10,000 people in his career as an instructor. 

Instruction Style: Real SOUL-FUL Cycle! HA!
